Care of early childhood (bunt bottle)
Bunt bottle caries is reaching the primary teeth, especially those in front and high among children under the age of 5. It is initialize when the child falls asleep with the bottle still in his mouth. It is a kind of decay very aggressive and tends to spread quickly. It's called bottle tooth decay because the use of the bottle promotes prolonged contact between the liquid from it and the tooth surface. Even milk contains natural sugars that cause cavities of the bottle if they are in prolonged contact with the teeth. If the liquid has more added sugar such as fruit drinks, soft liqueurs or sugar water, the risk of developing cavities of the bottle increases even more. The teeth are more susceptible to decay when they come to appear. It is important to keep the primary teeth healthy because most of these teeth are present in the mouth for 5 to 10 years and allow the child to eat, talk and have a beautiful smile.
Tips for avoiding the child bunt bottle:
* Prevent the baby is asleep with a bottle of milk or other liquids, apart from pure water without sugar.
* Do not fill the bottle of juice or other sweetened drinks, because the baby's head long on created a bottle prolonged contact with the teeth.
* Clean baby's gums before going to bed with a damp cloth although it has no teeth.
* Avoid a pacifier dipped in honey, syrup or other sugar products.
* We must begin to reduce the use of bottle to 12 months of age and children should start drinking the cup. Around 15 months, when the coordination of the child becomes good enough, the bottle should no longer be used.
* Breastfeeding is the best way to prevent tooth decay and promote the development of maxillary.
* If the child is on medication or sugary syrups, it must be clean teeth after
* From a young age, we must accustom the child to take care of her teeth.
* Bring the child to a dentist around the age of 2 years or earlier if something seems abnormal.
